Terms & Conditions
These are the Terms and Conditions that govern physical participation in The People’s Pyramid until the end of time.
This certificate, signed by the earthly representatives of The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, guarantees that a small portion of the buyer’s cremated remains, i.e. ground, powdered bone fragments, will be fired in a Brick and ceremonially interred as part of The People’s Pyramid.
As appointed agents of The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, we keep copies and details of everyone who has purchased a Brick, but on the demise of the person intended to be MuMufied, it is the responsibility of their representatives to make contact and follow this procedure:
Cremate the person, with whatever ceremony is felt to be appropriate.
Inform the chosen undertaker that a small portion of the deceased’s cremated remains are required.
Ensure several portions are taken, in case of acts of God or plain bad luck. The amount needed of each portion is 23 grams.
Please then convey the Brick and a portion of the cremated remains in the bag supplied to the address of H.G. Matthews Brick Works*, either by our suggested courier, or you are welcome to take the Brick and the cremated remains in person to H.G. Mathews Brick Works.
The representatives of the end user of the fired Brick may then attend the ceremonial laying of the Brick by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, at the annual Toxteth Day of the Dead, declared as the 23rd of November.
There is a chance that a small proportion of the Bricks fired will crack during firing.
To ensure ‘immortalisation’ in The People’s Pyramid is successfully completed, please make sure there are at least two extra separate portions of the cremated remains. This can be facilitated by yourselves, or your chosen undertaker, as previously mentioned.
Participation in The People’s Pyramid only requires a fraction of cremated remains, and allows all other family memorialisation, such as scattering, keeping or interring the rest of the cremated remains, to go ahead.
Please note, this does NOT give the owner or the representatives of the Brick any other entitlements or rights of ownership or unrestricted access of either the monument or the land it is built on, other than to be a representative of part of The People’s Pyramid.
Cost of the Brick may vary due to circumstances of purchase, but price difference does not convey or take away any privilege; the Brick is the Brick, just as The Pyramid is The People’s.
A portion of the sum required to purchase your place in The People’s Pyramid will be put aside to ensure the next earthly representatives of The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu can continue this task in the future. The remaining will be distributed amongst the undertakers Callender, Callender, Cauty and Drummond.
If the ownership of the Brick changes hands, it is up to the new representatives to make contact with us. There will be an administration charge to cover this. The term used for this type of trading is Dealing in Brick Coins. It is not encouraged, but not forbidden either.
Before it is fired, the Brick is delicate, particularly the edges, and needs to be handled with respect and good judgement. It will dissolve if it comes into contact with a liquid. Prominent, safe pre-mortem display is expected and encouraged.
The People’s Pyramid is designed to grow outward and upward, in the manner of a crystal forming, so as time goes by the early Bricks will be encased by the later ones. It will not be possible to identify each individual Brick.
It is expected that rituals and ceremonies will also grow around The People’s Pyramid, and any representatives of the Brick will be invited to these.
A Register of all the names of the MuMufied will be kept until the end of time.
